Description

The Associates are looking for a Finance and Technology Business Unit Architect to undertake a 1-year Fixed Term Contract. The role will see you working with an insurer on a large compliance-driven project which will include linkage to HR, Finance, Legal and compliance teams. The initial focus encompasses compliance across GAAP for different countries and IFRS 17. The project may develop into defining the transformation and architecture for a new Finance technology stack.

The salary on offer ranges between 100 and 120k on the base. You get 5 weeks holiday and a good set of benefits. Location is in South West London.

As the Head of Business Unit Architecture, you will be responsible for the overall architecture, IT strategy and project design for the business unit. You will work closely with the business leadership, IT leadership, aligned business analyst and business partner(s). You will also deliver the architecture roadmaps and strategies that define the direction and target vision for the business, shape early project definition (ideas phase) work and produce design documents for projects within your business domain. You will contribute to and deliver the reference architecture artefacts, particularly where these are pertinent to the projects within your business area.


As the Business Unit Architect, you will:

  •  Work closely with business leadership to define the architecture vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
  • Work closely with the aligned business partner and business analyst to shape early engagement on projects within the business
  •  Produce ideas phase architecture assessments and artefacts.
  • Act as a trusted partner of the business, helping to select opportunities and technologies that measurably improve business KPIs
  • Support the business partner in the management of the overall portfolio, providing architecture input as required.
  •  Work closely with project/programme leadership and sponsors to define the programme/business vision, strategy, delivery mechanisms and structure.
  • Produce project design artefacts as required by the projects
  • Manage the day to day tasks of any solution architects working on programmes within the business unit
  • Identify business requirements that affect enterprise architecture and provide solutions that integrate into the clients overall architectural vision and strategy
  • Provide organisational expertise to align solution architecture and technical design to business requirements
  • Ensure the overall technical integrity of the project/programme

 

The background you need to bring across knowledge and experience:

  • Subject matter expertise in both the business and technology domains.
  • Programme / Portfolio level architecture definition.
  • Large programme delivery
  • SOA systems design, development and delivery
  • Producing architectural roadmaps (as-is, to-be and transitions)
  • Delivering IT related commercial propositions relating to new bids and tenders
