Description
s the Financial Controller, reporting directly into the CFO, you will be qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA having passed all your exams first time. You will be keen to develop this small but fast- growing start-up and aim to be heading a finance team in the near future.

You understand every great role comes with some mundane tasks but you will relish the bigger challenge to excel in these tasks and will constantly be looking to create efficiencies to reduce the time spent on such tasks. You also understand that working in a small business will mean you will need to roll your sleeves up possibly at short notice.

You will be a commercial thinker with strong excel and analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail. You will be keen to get ‘under the skin’ of the company and understand its key drivers to profitability. You will work well with a small team of like-minded individuals and will be able to manage your own workload and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
 
This is a technology company that helps enterprises across Financial Services, Telecoms and Utilities, streamline complex processes (RPA arena) into effortless experiences by replicating the qualities of face-to face interactions within remote channels. This is a mature start-up that is moving to the next level of global growth. Currently with approx. 200-250 staff already with offices in the UK, North America and staff on the ground across Europe.
 
The company has a client base to die for which is growing annually, existing clients are using the solutions with increasing regularity in more and more locations around the world.

Responsibilities include but not limited to
  • Alongside CFO working with sales and account management team to ensure accurate forecasting and pipeline management, including multi-currency cash flow management
  • Management of 2 internal and 1 external team members and via team members
  • Responsible for timely billing of sales invoices and accurate recording of revenues depending on revenue allocation and taking into account resource allocation and performance if necessary
  • Responsible for all supplier payment processes ensuring suppliers and staff are paid on a timely basis
  • Manage month end close process including production of monthly reports ensuring all balances are reported accurately and monthly departmental reporting and analysis
  • Alongside CFO - maintenance and input of actuals into business plans/forecasts
  • Preparation of monthly finance reporting for both internal and external consumption including measuring and reporting on key milestones
  • Owning the relationship with loan providers ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Responsible for grant applications and ongoing compliance and eligibility, ensuring the company has maximised the potential of cash receipts from grants
  • Managing all tax issues, including transfer pricing and R&D claims for the group both UK and overseas ensuring timely reporting compliance with all relevant authorities
  • Management of annual audit to ensure completed on a timely basis

 Essential qualifications & skills                                                                                     
  • Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills; able to interact and collaborate with a wide range of people both in and outside of Accounts
  • Experienced in using the Xero accounting package
  • Capable of growing in this fast-expanding business
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
  • Ideally Degree level educated
  • 2+ years general accounting experience preferably in technology
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Cash book and VAT

  Based in the London office with travel to any other location, when required
 
Base £80k - £85k – Bonus £15k & full benefits package
